Cleaning and Inspecting Filter Insert

Cleaning Procedure:

causym CAUTION: NEVER apply water directly to internal and filter inserts.

1. Shake filter insert carefully to loosen dirt on outside.

IMPORTANT: NEVER beat the filter insert against hard objects (tires, shields, etc.).


2. Blow dry with compressed air as shown in the figure. Compressed air blow should be parallel in relation to internal surface of filter insert. Pressure should not exceed 5 kg/cm 2 (70 lb/in 2 , 70 psi).
3. Clean the external screen of the filter insert with a damp rag .

IMPORTANT: This cleaning procedure should only be implemented on the filter insert a maximum of three times.

Inspection Procedure:

1. Insert a light inside filter insert as illustrated in the figure, and carefully look for holes or ruptures on paper part of insert.

IMPORTANT: Replace any filter insert containing a hole or rupture of any kind.


2. Check if the outside screen of the filter insert is crushed.

NOTE: If it is crushed then the vibration caused may, in a short time, create a hole in the screen.


3. Check if the rubber seal is in good condition.

IMPORTANT: If the rubber seal is damaged replace the insert.


4. Mark down the number of times upper part of insert was cleaned.

NOTE: The filter insert can be cleaned a maximum of three times. On the fourth occasion it must be replaced by a new and genuine filter insert.
