Cleaning System Losses

Lose grain carried over the sieve and falling onto the ground due to incorrect sieve adjustment. With correct sieve adjustment, losses will be small and remain constant.

Causes of grain loss in the sieves are:

  • Incorrect cleaning fan speed.
  • Incorrect air direction.
  • Sieves incorrectly adjusted.
  • Sieves overloaded because of overthreshing.
