Combine Operation

CQ266370

Crop cut by header is sent to feeder house (A) that has the function to transport crop into threshing cylinder (B) and concave.

NOTE: Cutting platform operation is described in the platform's Operator's Manual.

For feeder house adjustment, see "Service - Feeder House" section.

Threshed grain, fine straw and some tailings (ear tips or husks) fall through openings in concave onto grain pan (E).

The overshot beater (C) receives straw threshed by threshing cylinder and throws it on straw walkers (D).

The straw walkers separate the remaining grain from the straw. Grain falls into pan (E) and the straw leaves the combine via straw chopper (G) where straw is chopped.

Threshed grain and fines are carried to the cleaner which consists of upper (H) and lower (I) sieves and the fan (J). The fan blows out the fines and the clean grain falls through the sieves.

The clean grain elevator (K) transports the grain to grain tank.

Any tailings (ear tips or husks) fall through the upper screen extension (L) and are carried by the tailings elevator (M) for rethreshing.
