Refrigerant Level
IMPORTANT:
The air conditioning system operates using R134a refrigerant (tetra-fluorethane). This substance does not contain any chlorine atoms, so it does not have a detrimental effect on the ozone in the Earth's atmosphere.
Even so, the refrigerant must never be discharged into the atmosphere. Before any intervention in the system, it must be trapped in a recycling unit. Therefore, do not execute repairs on refrigeration lines nor the system itself. Service work on the air conditioning system must be carried out by your John Deere dealer.
With air conditioning system controls set for maximum cooling and with the engine running, check sight glass (A) at drier filter (B). If refrigerant appears cloudy or foamy, refrigerant level is low and system should be recharged.
