Changing Engine Oil Filter and Oil
IMPORTANT:
Ensure that your hands and engine are perfectly clean when installing replacement filter elements or changing oil.
1.
Run engine for approx. 5 minutes to heat up oil.
2.
Then shut down engine.
3.
Bleed oil through plug (A) while it is still warm.
4.
Remove oil filter (B).
5.
Remove O-ring and clean mounting surface where new O-ring will be fitted. Apply a thin coat of oil to new O-ring and install it together with the new oil filter. When O-ring is touching mounting surface, tighten filter manually by another 1/2 to 3/4 turn. Do NOT overtighten filter.
6.
Close oil drain plug (A) again.
7.
Fill engine with oil complying with specified viscosity and quality. (Refer to "Specifications" section).
NOTE:
Actual capacity may vary slightly from figure stated above. Do NOT overfill!
IMPORTANT:
Directly after completing oil change and/or filter change, crank engine for 30 seconds. This ensures that all engine components are thoroughly lubricated when engine is started.
8.
Start engine and check for leaks.
9.
Shut off engine and wait 10 minutes before checking oil level. Oil should still be up to upper mark on dipstick.
