1. Prepare the combine for the type of crop to be harvested.

2. Prepare and hook up header to combine.

NOTE: See header preparation and coupling information in the Cutting Platform Operator's Manual.

3. Start engine, leaving it running at slow idle.

4. Move road safety switch to field position.

IMPORTANT: Always engage separating system with engine in slow idle.

5. Switch on separator.

6. Engage header.

7. Set engine to maximum rpm.

8. Engage a gear.

NOTE: Second gear is the most indicated for all-around field performance. Third gear is not recommended for field operations, only for transport.

9. Move multi-function control handle to adapt ground speed to harvesting conditions.
