III)
NOTE:

A - Mark
B - Mark
C - Bore
A belt tension gauge does not give an accurate measure of
belt tension when using an automatic spring tensioner.
Measure tensioner spring tension using a torque wrench and the
following steps:
-
Release tension on belt using a long-handle 1/2 inch breaker
bar in tension arm. Remove belt from pulleys.
-
Release tension on tension arm and remove breaker bar.
-
Put a mark (A) on swing arm of tensioner as shown.
-
Measure 21 mm (0.83 in.) from mark (A) and put a mark (B) on
tensioner mounting base.
-
Couple a torque wrench to hole (C) and turn rocker arm until
marks (A) and (B) are aligned.
-
Record torque wrench measurement and compare with specification.
Replace tensioner assembly as required.
