Preparing Hay Tedder for Transport

causym CAUTION: Prevent collisions between other road users, slow moving tractors with attachments or towed equipment, and self-propelled machines on public roads. Frequently check for traffic from the rear, especially in turns, and use hand signals or turn signal lights.

Use headlights, flashing warning lights, and turn signals day and night. Follow local regulations for equipment lighting and marking. Keep lighting and marking visible and in good working order. Replace or repair lighting and marking that has been damaged or lost.

1. Make sure reflectors and tractor SMV sign are clean and visible.

2. Disengage tractor PTO.

3. Put rotors in horizontal position by using adjusting screw (A).

IMPORTANT: To avoid tines puncturing the tires when the outer rotors are folded back into transport position, inner wheels must be locked in their forward position with handle to the rear.

4. 754; Release tine arm on each outer rotor. Move outer wings to the rear until locking device engages in the transport position.

a. Unlock outer casters wheels by turning lock (A).

b. Lock outer caster wheels in trailing position. Handles (B) must face to the front.

c. Lock one tine arm (A) with clip (B) on each outside rotor.

5. 756; Lock each outside rotor by locking tine arm (A) with clip (B) on both outer rotors.

a. Using the tractor hydraulics raise outer rotors until they are in the locked position.

b. Unlatch outer rotor lock (C) and turn rotor (D) 180° until tines are facing inside of machine. Lock latch into storage position.
