Installing Belts

NOTE: See illustration for location of long and short belts. Install belts with diamond portion of the belt to the outside. Make sure belts are installed through the individual guides.

Refer to Specifications section for proper length of belts.

1. Loosen belt tension by raising gate fully and engaging gate lock.

2. When replacing a belt, rotate belt until splice appears in back vertical strand. Shut off tractor.

3. Remove splicing pin (C). Hook trimmed end of new belt (A) to square end of old belt (B) with splicing pin (C). Pull new belt through baler by hand, using the old belt.

4. Thread belts so when viewed in the direction of travel (see illustration), the square cornered end of belt leads the end with trimmed corners. (See decal located on right-hand side of baler, above twine box.)

  • Belt end with trimmed corners (A) must have 44 hooks in splice.
  • Belt end with square corners (B) must have 45 hooks in splice.

5. Install spicing pin (C). Bend ends of pin at 70° to 80° angle pointing toward the trimmed end of belt (A) as shown.
