Gear Case Oil

Use oil viscosity based on the expected air temperature range during the period between oil changes.

The following oils are preferred:

  • John Deere GL-5 GEAR LUBRICANT
  • John Deere EXTREME-GARD ™

Other oils may be used if they meet API Service Classification GL-5.

Artic oils (such as Military Specification MIL-L-10324A) may be used at temperatures below -30°C (-22°F).
