Operating Variable Core (If Equipped)
Plug wiring harness into tractor convenience outlet.
The diameter of the core formed under low belt tension is adjusted by rotating the cam (A) under the microswitch roller (B). This is a trial-and-error adjustment, where cam numbers are used for reference only, not as an actual measurement or indicator.
The gate must be closed and the tension arm all the way down before making adjustment.
IMPORTANT:
Set variable core diameter at least four inches under full bale diameter, so tight, dense, outer layers are formed. High density outer layers are needed so bale holds its shape when wrapped and also to help the bale repel water.
Loosen wing nut (C).
-
To increase diameter of the low density core, rotate cam counterclockwise to a larger number.
-
To decrease diameter of the low density core, rotate cam clockwise to a smaller number.
Tighten wing nut (C).
If microswitch roller is positioned on the un-numbered surface (D), the variable core feature is OFF and solenoid (E) will not operate, so entire bale will be formed at high (system) pressure.
