Attaching Mower Hitch to Tractor Draft Link Hitch

causym CAUTION: To avoid bodily injury or machine damage whenever an implement is attached, put transmission in PARK position and check the full range of hitch for interference, binding or PTO separation.

Do not stand between tractor and implement.

NOTE: John Deere 7000 Series tractor shown throughout procedure.

1. Turn tractor load/depth control fully counterclockwise (A).

2. Version A-Lift lock pins (B) and extend telescoping draft link ends.

Version B-Slide lock pins (B) and extend telescoping draft link ends.

causym CAUTION: To prevent possible injury, use ONLY hitch control lever (A) when attaching implements. DO NOT use raise/lower switch (B).

3. Back up tractor to mower with hitch points approximately in alignment.

4. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park".

5. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

6. Reposition mower lower hitch pins, if necessary. Make sure a clearance (B) is held for a full cut of the cutterbar at all times. (See POSITIONING LOWER HITCH PINS in Preparing the Mower section.)

Specification

Tire-to-Knife Cutting Edge -Clearance (B) 50 mm (2 in.)

7. Remove quick-lock pins from mower hitch pins.

8. Clean all paint or rust from hitch pins.

9. Attach tractor draft links (A) to hitch pins and reinstall quick-lock pins.

10. Telescoping draft links; Carefully back up tractor making sure both left and right telescoping draft link ends lock.

11. Remove spring pin and pin (A).

12. Attach tractor center link to mower. Reinstall pin and spring pin. ( Two positions are available on the pin, depending on tractor center link inside diameter. )

13. Attach PTO driveline, hydraulic hose and pull-rope. (See procedures in this section.)

14. Raise mower using tractor rockshaft/hitch control lever.

15. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park".

16. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

17. Fold parking latch (A) up, until locked in disengaged position.

18. Adjust tractor center link, lift links and lateral float. (See procedures in your tractor Operator's manual.)

19. Adjust hitch operating height. (See ADJUSTING CUTTERBAR HEIGHT in Operating the Mower section.)
