To avoid bodily injury, disengage PTO and shut off tractor engine before starting prechecks.
Inspect and service machine before starting work each day.
Check and adjust drive belt tension. (See procedure in Service section.)
Check knives; reverse, or replace if knives are blunt. (See CHECKING KNIFE WEAR in Service section.)
Check that knives are correctly positioned.
Check that knives rotate freely.
Check for any loose bolts and missing hardware.
Check cutterbar lift movement.
