Vibration

Crop divider cap missing or crop divider damaged.

Replace cap or divider immediately.

Cutterbar not floating

Main frame height incorrect.

Adjust. (See ADJUSTING MAIN FRAME HEIGHT in Operating the Mower section.)

Tractor SCV lever not in float position.

Move lever into detented float position.

Cutterbar pivot points binding.

Clean and lubricate pivot points.

Machine breaking back too easily

Insufficient tension on break-away spring washers.

Tighten lock nut at break-away latch. (See RESETTING/ADJUSTING BREAK-AWAY LATCH in Operating the Mower section.)

Excessive ground speed for field conditions.

Reduce ground speed.

Difficulty in obtaining correct angle on cutterbar

Lack of adjustment on tractor center link.

Adjust tractor center link.

Uneven stubble

Too much tilt on cutterbar.

Reduce tilt. (See ADJUSTING CUT HEIGHT in Operating the Mower section.)

Low PTO speed.

Increase engine speed to run PTO at 540 rpm.

Knives incorrectly installed.

Install knives correctly. (See procedure in the Service section.)

Slow disk speed.

Check and adjust drive belt tension. (See ADJUSTING DRIVE BELT TENSION in Service section.)

Excessive forward speed.

Reduce forward speed.

Knives dull or broken.

Install new knives. (See procedure in Service section.)

Incorrect angle on cutterbar.

Insufficient cutterbar down pressure.

Adjust compensating spring tension. (See procedure in Operating the Mower section.)

Soil built up in front of cutterbar.

Very wet conditions.

Adjust main frame height. (See procedure in Operating the Mower section.)

Install high skid shoe kit. (See Attachments section.)

Too much cutterbar down pressure.
