Interchanging Disks

If ribbed faces on the disk become excessively worn, extend disk life by moving disk to a location of opposite rotation. Interchange disks (A) with disks (B). Converging drum/cones can be interchanged with each other except, cap (C) must be installed on outside end, as shown. Replace disk if worn area causes functional problems.

Do not weld, this will lead to out-of-balance forces.

When interchanging disks, make sure knives are fitted to their correct disk. See DIRECTION OF KNIFE ROTATION in this section.

Knife bolt and nut must be in good condition. Always replace worn or damaged bolts and nuts when changing knives.
