Adjusting Bale Shape Indicators

Bale shape senders are located at the rear of baler. Right-hand arm controls right-hand indicator. Left-hand arm controls left-hand indicator.

1. To adjust, close gate and engage PTO for a few seconds. Shut off tractor.

2. Raise bale shape indicators (A) until holes in shield band and holes in indicator align. Insert pins (3/16 in. drill bits) through holes (B) to keep indicators in place.

3. Remove lock nut and round-head bolt (A). Rotate shield (B) away from baler.

4. Loosen cable clamp nut (B).

5. Pull arm (D) out so roller (E) just contacts belt without deflecting it.

6. Wrap a piece of wire around strap (A) and clamp (C) to hold arm (D) in this position.

7. Pull on cable until all slack is removed and tighten nut (B).

8. Remove wire.

9. To check adjustment, remove pin (A) from right-hand indicator. A portion of the hole must be in alignment. If not, repeat Steps 4 through 8.

10. Repeat adjusting procedure on left-hand side.

11. Remove pins (drill bits).

12. Rotate shield toward baler and fasten with round-head bolt and lock nut.
