Operating Wrap Control

IMPORTANT: Wrap cycle should be started while traveling forward and baling. This allows twine to catch on the bale.

Start wrapping when the first audible alarm stops, indicating full size bale, and before the second alarm, indicating oversize bale.

NOTE: Keep engine speed constant while wrapping. Varying engine speed will change number of twine wraps and their spacing across the bale. When baling dry straw, it will be desirable to quickly place twine across full width of bale to prevent straw from coming out of feed opening while tying.

Examples show operation of John Deere 7000 Series Tractor.

1. Push forward and hold SCV lever (A) until pointer reaches position (B). Stop forward travel when spinners (C) show twine is caught on bale and moving.

2. Release lever for 4 to 6 seconds to apply right-hand end wraps.

3. Pull and hold lever rearward to bring twine arms back across bale. Position twine arm at index marks for approximately 2 to 3 seconds before advancing to next index mark. Adjust position and pause time to achieve desired twine spacing.

When baling dry straw:

• Push forward and hold SCV lever until pointer reaches (B) again.
• Pull on SCV lever to position twine arms at each index mark for approximately 2 to 3 seconds.

4. When pointer reaches the last index mark, release lever for 4 to 6 seconds to apply left-hand end wraps.

5. Pull lever rearward again to move twine arms to cutoff and home positions. Look at spinners to check that twine has cut.
