Threading Needles (328)
CAUTION:
Disengage PTO and shut off tractor engine before threading needles.
IMPORTANT:
Do not cross twine during threading operation.
NOTE:
A detailed threading diagram is located underneath twine box lid. Improperly threaded twine will cause tying problems.
Threading Right-Hand Needle
1.
With needles in "home" position, thread twine from inside ball through lower guide (B) and through FRONT of tension plate (A).

2.
Thread through eye (A) on needle frame.
3.
Thread twine (D) UNDER needle guard, through eye (C), beneath right-hand needle and through right-hand needle (B). Thread twine OVER guide on end of needle.

4.
Secure twine to measuring wheel shaft (A).
5.
Trip measuring wheel arm and turn flywheel counterclockwise by hand.
6.
Continue turning flywheel until needles are all the way up, twine is held in twine disk, and needles have returned to "home" position.
7.
Remove twine temporarily secured to measuring wheel. Right-hand twine is now ready for baling operation.

Threading Left-Hand Needle
1.
Thread twine from outside ball through upper guides (A) and through REAR of tension plate (B).

2.
Thread through eye (A) on needle frame.
3.
Throw twine (B) under bale case.

4.
Thread twine through eye (A) and over guide on end of needle (B).
5.
Secure twine (C) to measuring wheel.
6.
Trip measuring wheel arm and turn flywheel counterclockwise by hand.
