Adjusting Needles-Twine Baler

1. Attach spring scale (A) to needle (B). Move needle sideways until right-hand side exerts pressure against the knotter frame per specification.

2. Slightly loosen four mounting cap screws (A) and tap needles sideways until proper pressure is obtained.

3. Clearance between needle (A) and twine cleaner (B) or twine disk (C) must be within distance (D) specified.

Specification

Needle-to-Twine Cleaner/Disk -Distance (D) 0.8-2.4 mm (1/32-3/32 in.)

NOTE: The twine cleaner should move freely through the twine disk and must be in its extreme left position when measuring needle clearance.

4. Each needle may be adjusted forward or rearward by loosening one of the needle mounting cap screws and tightening the other, or it may be shifted sideways by loosening both mounting cap screws.

5. When needles are properly adjusted, tighten all bolts to specification and again check needles through their cycle.
