Adjusting Needles-Wire Baler
Needle mounting cap screws (A) control position of needles in relation to the center and rear wire guides, slots in twister mounting plate, and wire grippers.
Each needle may be adjusted forward or rearward by loosening one of the needle mounting cap screws and tightening the other, or it may be shifted sideways by loosening both mounting cap screws.

When the needle is in its highest position, clearance (A) of each needle from the left-hand side of its respective slot in the twister mounting plate, must be within specification.

Align each needle with wire guide pulleys, and slot in twister mounting plate, trip the measuring arm and raise the needles as follows:

Loosen both needle mounting cap screws and move needle sideways until it is aligned. (See ADJUSTING WIRE GUIDES in this section.)

As the needles pass through the knotting mechanism, closest point of each needle (A) should clear front of each wire gripper (B) by clearance (C) specified (when checked without wire in the grippers.)

To increase distance between needles and grippers, loosen the front needle mounting cap screws slightly and tighten the rear cap screws. Reverse this procedure to reduce the distance.
When needles are properly adjusted, tighten all cap screws to specification and again check needles through their cycle.
