1. Remove wheels. Clean, repack, and adjust bearings (1).

2. Check and fill gear case (B) to check plug (C) level with John Deere GL-5 Gear Lubricant. Capacity is 3.8 L (4 U.S. qt).

3. Remove spring clamp and cover. Brush gears with Moly High Temperature EP grease.

4. Loosen springs (A) the end of season. Adjust springs (A) at the beginning of season. (See ADJUSTING SLIP CLUTCH in Service section.)
