Attaching and Detaching PTO Sliding Collar Driveline

causym CAUTION: Shut of tractor engine and follow safe PTO hookup procedure outlined below.

IMPORTANT: Keep driveline and powershaft splines clean of paint, dirt, and chaff. Coat tractor PTO shaft with John Deere Moly High Temperature EP grease or John Deere EP Moly Grease before attaching PTO driveline.

To attach:

  • Shut off tractor engine.
  • Raise shield (B)
  • Align splines.
  • Support coupler and pull back on collar (A). Slide driveline forward until latched.
  • Lower shield (B).

To detach:

  • Shut off tractor engine.
  • Raise shield (B)
  • Support coupler and pull back on collar (A).
  • Lower shield (B).
