Checking Twine Knot Strength

1. Remove twine from five or more bales with knot intact or hand tie knots in new twine.

2. Using a spring scale, pull twine with knot (A) to failure at base of knot.

NOTE: Good quality twine will have tensile strength and knot strength printed on the wrapper. Knot strength is usually one half the twine tensile strength.
