Adjusting Reel Speed

Adjust reel speed to meet varying crop conditions and ground speed by adjusting reel drive pulley.

Add shims between sheave halves to decrease reel speed. Remove shims to increase reel speed.

To adjust:

1. Open drive shield.

2. Release tension on belt by pulling pin (A) and lifting idler (B). Remove belt.

3. Remove six flange nuts from drive pulley (C).

4. Remove adjustable pulley half.

IMPORTANT: Do not add more than four shims or damage to belt may occur.

NOTE: In some crop conditions, it may be necessary to install an optional 16-tooth sprocket to increase reel speed. If optional sprocket is installed, refer to REEL SPEED CHART, 16-Tooth Sprocket (Optional) for correct setting.

5. Add shims between sheave halves to decrease reel speed. Remove shims to increase reel speed.
