Engaging Cylinder Locks

Lift cylinder locks prevent accidental lowering of platform when working near or under raised platform.

Raise platform and engage cylinder lock (A). Repeat on opposite side.

If platform is to be in the raised position for an hour or more, lower platform onto cylinder locks. This will prevent oil transferring from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder causing hydraulic lock and preventing platform from being raised.

If the left-hand side of machine does not raise up, bleed oil from the right-hand cylinder.

causym CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury should reference a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

To bleed oil:

1. Wrap a rag around right-hand cylinder fitting.

2. Loosen fitting and release oil until left-hand cylinder rests on cylinder lock.

3. Tighten fitting.

4. Raise machine and disengage cylinder locks.

5. Lower machine.
