Slipping the Slip Clutch
Slip Clutch may draw moisture during storage and freeze up. Slip the clutch at the beginning of each season.
1.
Loosen clutch bolts to release tension.

Put a 51 x 102 x 102 mm (2 x 4 x 4-in.) piece of wood (A) on the knife at the knife drive end of cutterbar.

3.
Insert bar (A) between yoke and U-joint.
4.
Slip the clutch.

IMPORTANT:
The slip clutch has been designed to furnish protection to the drive train; overtightening will lessen this protection.
5.
Adjust slip clutch by tightening spring adjusting nuts (A). Set slip clutch dimension (B) to 40 mm (1-9/16 in.) (B) from inside of washer to clutch plate.
