IMPORTANT:
The belt tensioner is designed to protect pickup components; overtightening reduces protection. Check adjustment daily.
Before adjusting idler, engage PTO and observe spacer (D) relative to jam nut (C). If total movement is more than 3 mm (0.118 in.), there may be a burnt or thin spot in the belt. Inspect belt and replace if necessary.
To adjust pickup belt idler:
1.
Remove drive shield.

2.
Shut off tractor.
3.
Loosen jam nuts (A).
4.
Adjust spring until clearance (B) between jam nut (C) and top of spacer (D) is within specifications.
