Sharpening Net Wrap Cutoff Knife

NOTE: Sharpen knife when strings of net wrap material or patches of net wrap extend from the knife to gate roller, or when knife does not cut the net wrap material.

causym CAUTION: Knife is sharp. Wear gloves when handling knife.

1. Remove knife (A). (See REMOVING AND INSTALLING NET WRAP KNIFE in this section.)

2. Put knife in vice or lay knife on work bench and secure with clamps.

3. Use file, as illustrated, to sharpen knife edge. This procedure (similar to using a draw knife), will produce a sharp knife.

4. Install knife. (See REMOVING AND INSTALLING NET WRAP KNIFE in this section.)

5. Check and adjust knife arm stop and brake. (See ADJUSTING KNIFE ARM STOP and CHECKING AND ADJUSTING NET WRAP FEED ROLL BRAKE in this section.)
