Remove and Install Spindles and Wheels (456/456S-Wide Pickup)

IMPORTANT: Wheel spindles are factory installed in shipping position (A). Spindles need to be removed, then installed in the "normal" position (B or C).

1. Lift one side of baler using a floor jack.

2. Remove six wheel nuts and wheel.

3. Remove nuts, washers and spindle.

NOTE: Install spindle mounting bolts with nuts on outside of machine.

4. Position wheel spindle in normal position (B or C). Install parts and tighten nuts to specifications.

Specification

Nuts -Torque 235 N·m (173 lb-ft)

IMPORTANT: 456; Install wheels with 11L-14 tires with valve stems toward the OUTSIDE.

Install wheels with 31 x 13.5-15 tires with valve stems toward the INSIDE.

Incorrect assembly can cause wheel nuts to loosen.

5. 456; Install wheel with 11L-14 tires with valve stem toward the OUTSIDE. Fasten with six 1/2-in. nuts.

Install wheel with 31 x 13.5-15 tire with valve stem toward the INSIDE. Fasten with six 1/2-in. nuts.

6. Tighten nuts to specifications.

Specification

Nuts -Torque 115 N·m (85 lb-ft)

7. Repeat steps on opposite side.
