Inspecting Seat Belts
CAUTION:
To prevent bodily injury, inspect seat belt and mounting hardware in your machine at least once a year. If the seat belt system, including mounting hardware, shows signs of damage such as cuts, fraying, extreme or unusual wear, discoloration, abrasion, damage to the buckle or retractor, the entire seat belt should be replaced immediately.
For your safety, replace the seat belt system with genuine John Deere parts approved for your machine from John Deere service parts. See your John Deere dealer.
Seat belts are standard equipment on both the operator and passenger seats. The lap type seat belts have push button quick release and automatic belt retraction to allow unrestricted exiting and entering of the seats.
Thoroughly inspect all the components in the seat belt system.
Fully extend seat belt to inspect belt for wear.
With seat belt partially extended, pull seat belt quickly checking to see if seat belt restraint is working.
