Adjusting Platform Guard Angle

Set the guard angle and gauge shoe height to optimize the cutting performance of the platform, at the same time using care to protect the guards and platform from obstacles in the field.

NOTE: It is not necessary to engage the platform drive to set guard angle.

Changing the guard angle will affect the platform cutting height.

1. Lower platform to the ground and set engine at idle.

2. Press the upper portion of the switch (A) to increase the guard angle.

3. Press the lower portion of the switch to decrease the guard angle.

4. The decal (B) on gauge (C) shows the number of degrees the guard angle is below horizontal (zero).

5. Check and adjust the gauge shoe height. (See ADJUSTING GAUGE SHOE HEIGHT in the platform Operator's Manual.)

6. Check and adjust the platform float. (See ADJUSTING PLATFORM FLOAT in this section.)
