Bleeding Fuel Injection Pump

If the engine still will not start after bleeding the filter, it may be necessary to bleed the pressure line to the fuel injection pump.

IMPORTANT: To avoid damage to the fuel lines, always use a backup wrench when loosening or tightening fuel lines at injector pump and/or injection nozzles.

1. Using two open-end wrenches, loosen the return line (A) at the injector pump.

2. Pump the primer lever on the fuel pump until fuel (free from bubbles) flows from the loose connection.

3. Hold the primer lever in the down position while tightening the return line to specifications.
