Filling Radiator

causym CAUTION: Avoid being scalded when radiator cap is removed. First turn cap slightly to the stop. This lets steam and hot coolant out the vent.

IMPORTANT: In case of excessive coolant loss, never pour cold water into a hot engine, as it might crack cylinder block or head.

Never operate, even for a few minutes, engine without coolant.

Never fill radiator when engine is overheated, unless engine is idling slowly. Pour coolant in slowly.

Never use high silicate automotive coolant.

NOTE: Do not add coolant to system through the recovery tank.

1. Check coolant level in recovery tank.

2. Add coolant through filler cap (A) in surge tank to bottom of fill neck.

3. Disconnect overflow hose at recovery tank and drain recovery tank if too full.

4. Turn on heater and run engine for several minutes with filler cap (A) off. Stop engine and add coolant as needed.

5. Add coolant to recovery tank as needed.
