Checking Compressor and Drive Belt

causym CAUTION: Turn off engine and remove key.

Inspect serpentine drive belt. If worn, see REMOVING AND INSTALLING SERPENTINE BELT in Engine section.

causym CAUTION: Do not start engine.

NOTE: It is not necessary to turn on the cab blower.

Turn ignition switch to RUN, turn on air conditioning switch and place temperature knob to coldest setting.

Check compressor pulley (A) for magnetism by placing a metallic object next to it. If area is not magnetic see your John Deere Dealer.
