Loose or worn controls

Check controls.

Field-Road switch in transport position

Set switch to FIELD position.

Brakes dragging

Check brake calipers for full release.

Replace.

Failed motors

Replace.

Low charge pressure

The windrower is not designed to spin the wheels under all conditions

See your John Deere dealer if problem becomes excessive.

Hydraulic oil overheated

Both Wheels Will Not Pull In Forward or Reverse

Low on oil

Check hydrostatic oil level and power wheels.

Tow disconnects still out

Engage final drives.

Steering controls worn or loose

Check control lever and steering for loose, worn, or broken ball joints and ball joint rods.

Check brakes for full release or binding

Remove foreign objects so discs are free to rotate.

Faulty relief valves

Replace.

Clogged charge pump suction screen in reservoir

Remove and clean screen.

Low charge pressure

Failed pump

Replace.

Broken pump driveline

Replace.

Tow disconnect still out

Engage final drive.

Check control lever and steering for loose, worn, or broken ball joints and ball joint rods.

Check brake for full release or binding

Failed pump, motor, or final drive

One Wheel Develops Pull in Either Forward or Reverse

Faulty relief valve

Excessive Noise From Drive System

FIELD/ROAD switch in transport range

Use transport range only on the road.

Brakes noisy

Faulty pump or motor

Windrower Will Not Run Full Speed in Field or Transport

Low charge pressure

Leaking Seals or Covers On Pumps or Motors

Case pressure too high

Check for kinked hose or other restrictions in drain lines.

Low Charge Pressure

Plugged charge pump suction screen in reservoir

Remove and clean screen.

Low on oil

Check for leaks and correct. Fill reservoir.

Malfunctioning priority valve

See your John Deere dealer.

Worn charge pump

Replace.

Plugged filter

Replace filter.

Low oil supply

Fill system with correct oil.

Oil cooler air passages clogged

Clean oil cooler.

Clogged hydrostatic filter

Replace filter.

Platform drive motor shuttle spool sticking

Hydraulic Oil Leak

Loose fitting

Tighten fitting.

Ruined O-ring on fitting or hose

Replace O-ring. Tighten right-angle fittings by hand, then back out to required orientation.

Fitting seal surface scratched or nicked

Replace fitting.

Platform Continues To Run When Disengaged

Neutral out of adjustment on drive pump

Faulty valve cartridge

See your John Deere dealer.

Platform Pump Drive Belt Separates

Drive idler or driven sheave out of line

See your John Deere dealer.

Idler spring tension too low

Platform Drive Will Not Engage

Faulty switch, solenoid, or valve cartridge

Replace spring.
