1.
Clean the entire windrower and platform thoroughly inside and out to prevent rust.
NOTE:
Swing combination cooler condenser away from radiator for cleaning.
2.
Use pressurized water or air to clean dust and dirt from radiator, oil cooler, and condenser.
3.
Clean engine air filter precleaner. Remove dirt from filter and install in air cleaner.
4.
Drain crankcase while engine is warm. Replace filter and fill crankcase with oil of proper weight and quality. (See DIESEL ENGINE OIL in Fuel, Coolant, and Lubricants section. Used oil will not protect engine parts.
IMPORTANT:
The hydraulic system must not be left dry during storage.
5.
Drain hydrostatic reservoir (2000 hours or every other season), install new filter element, and fill reservoir to proper level. Check and add oil, if necessary, to the final drives. (See HYDROSTATIC DRIVE SYSTEM AND MAIN HYDRAULIC SYSTEM in Fuel, Coolant, and Lubricants section.)
NOTE:
Drain and flush cooling system 2000 hours or every other season.
6.
Drain, flush, and refill cooling system with antifreeze rated for lower temperatures than expected. Always
|
use a low silicate antifreeze in the machine. See Fuel, Coolant, and Lubricants section of this operator's manual for recommended coolant conditioner.
7.
Grease windrower and platform completely. (See Lubrication and Maintenance section in this manual and platform operator's manual).
8.
Paint all worn, or chipped places.
9.
Store windrower in a dry place.
10.
Lower platform and block up windrower, taking load off tires. DO NOT DEFLATE TIRES. If machine is exposed, cover the tires to protect them from sunlight, grease and oil.
11.
Loosen belts and wipe clean with a nonflammable solvent.
12.
Disconnect battery cables. Remove battery and store in a cool, dry location, safe from freezing temperatures and also temperatures in excess of 52°C (125°F). Check battery every 30 days and charge if necessary. (See SERVICING BATTERY in the Electrical section).
13.
List the repair parts needed and order them early.
