Removing Windrower From Storage (Beginning of Season)

1. Check engine, final drives, and hydrostatic system oil levels. Check for leaks and add oil as necessary.

2. Remove radiator cap and check coolant level. If low, check for leaks or loose connections. Service cooling system as required. Be certain sufficient amount of low silicate antifreeze with coolant conditioner is used to provide for coldest anticipated temperature. (See Fuel, Coolant, and Lubricants section for recommended coolant conditioner.)

3. Install battery. Charge battery. (See SERVICING BATTERY in the Electrical section).

4. Bleed entire fuel system before starting engine. Fill fuel tank with proper fuel. (See Fuel, Coolant, and Lubricants section).

5. Remove blocking and check tires and tire inflation. (See CHECKING WHEELS in the Wheels, Steering, Brakes, and Rear Axle section).

6. Clean the windrower and platform thoroughly.

7. Check platform pump drive belt for proper tension, adjust as needed.

8. Perform BEGINNING OF SEASON procedure on platform. (See Beginning of Season section in platform operator's manual).

9. Completely lubricate windrower and platform. (See Lubrication and Maintenance section in this manual and platform operator's manual).

IMPORTANT: Review Operating the Engine section.

10. Start windrower and allow to warm up.

11. Increase engine speed to operating rpm.

12. Raise platform and move windrower out of storage area to level ground.

13. Lower platform and engage platform drive. Allow windrower and platform to run for 3-5 minutes. Stop engine.

14. Check windrower and platform completely to see that cap screws are tight and cotter pins are spread.

15. Check all fluid levels and, if necessary, fill with recommended fluid. (See Fuel, Coolant, and Lubricants section.)

16. Check air conditioning refrigerant level in sight glass. A small amount of leakage is normal. It may be necessary to have your dealer add refrigerant.

17. Review your operator's manual.
