Leveling the Hitch

causym CAUTION: DO NOT under any circumstance exceed the max. permissible center link length.

Danger of accidents!

1. Lower implement to take weight off hitch.

2. Adjust center link to level implement front-to-rear: Unlatch locking clip (A). Loosen ring nut (D). Rotate center link body clockwise (B) to lengthen center link or counterclockwise (C) to shorten it. Length of link must be kept within the following limits (measured at the center link ends):

  • min. length = 530 mm (20.87 in)
  • max. length = 730 mm (28.74 in)

IMPORTANT: DO NOT attempt to over-extend center link beyond limits. Link body threads could be damaged.

NOTE: Maximum adjustment range of the center link can only be obtained if the ends are positioned equally within the body when attached to an implement.

After the adjustment is completed, tighten ring nut (D).

Re-latch the locking clip (A) if link is not in use.

3. Adjusting right-hand or left-hand link to level implement side to side: Loosen nut (A), turn crank handle (B) clockwise to raise draft link, turn crank handle (B) counterclockwise to lower draft link.

After adjustment, tighten nut (A) onto the lower body to prevent change of adjustment during operation.

Length of links (C) must be kept within the following limits:

  • minimum length 500 mm (19.7 in.)
  • maximum length 670 mm (26.4 in.)

4. Adjusting floating position of side vertical links.

Side vertical links can be installed on lower links in two different ways:

Fixed Position:

- the pin (A) maintains the rigid position of the vertical link in relation to the lower link.

Floating Position:

- the pin (A) can move in the slot (B) allowing the implement to be free on the terrain and follow its profile. To obtain this position, remove securing pin (C) and rotate the plate (D) and pin (A) into the slot of link end. After adjustment install the securing pin (C). Repeat for the other vertical link.
