Operating Rear PTO at Correct Speed

NOTE: Engine will not start if PTO clutch lever is engaged.

1. Start engine and push hand throttle lever (F).

Select correct engine speed when operating the PTO.

Compare with table below:

PTO standard speeds are achieved at the following engine speeds:

540 rpm rear PTO... 1938 rpm
540E rpm rear PTO... 1648 rpm
1000 rpm rear PTO... 1962 rpm

 

NOTE: Direct reading of current PTO rpm value is possible on the digital instrument 1 version (H), operating the programm button (G).

2. Select the PTO speed if the tractor is equipped with 540 and 540E or 540 and 1000 PTO option. Move lever forward (B) for 540 or rearward (C) for 540E or 1000 operation. Position (A) is neutral. This lever is on the rear of the gearbox. If dual speed PTO is not provided, this lever will not be installed.

IMPORTANT: The PTO speed selector lever must only be used when no equipment is connected to the PTO.

3. Make sure that lever (K) 1 on the left fender is in rear position (independent PTO operation) .

4. Move control lever (J) inward and forward to engage PTO. PTO indicator (D) will light on when PTO is engaged.

causym CAUTION: Turn key off to stop engine and make sure all mechanisms have stopped before cleaning out machine or making any adjustments to PTO driven implement.

5. Pull control lever back to disengage PTO.

For ground speed PTO operation move lever (K) 1 forward. In this case, PTO engagement is independent from position of control lever (J).
