Air Conditioning System

If the cooling effect is intermittent, clean front grille, side screens, radiator and condenser. If necessary, check and clean cab air filter. Should all these procedures not solve the problem and the system still not work properly, the refrigerant level in the system may be low. See your John Deere dealer.

causym CAUTION: The refrigerant in the system is under pressure. If it escapes it can penetrate the skin or the eyes and it can cause burns.

IMPORTANT: The system is filled with R134a refrigerant. Servicing it requires special procedures and equipment. See your John Deere dealer.

At ambient temperatures below 0°C (32°F) operate the compressor by switching on the air conditioning system for 10 to 15 minutes at least once per month. Run the engine at 1500 rpm. By doing this the seals in the compressor are lubricated and prevented from becoming dry and brittle.

IMPORTANT: Frequently check air conditioning components for leaks or damage.

Wear protective clothing. If air conditioning components are contaminated with oil, this may indicate a refrigerant leak. If there is any doubt, contact your John Deere Dealer.

IMPORTANT: Never interrupt the circuit, as this will allow all the refrigerant to escape.

causym CAUTION: Refrigerant is harmful to the eyes and skin. If a leak is detected, put on safety glasses and wear protective clothing. Call your John Deere dealer, who has the special equipment required to service and repair the air-conditioning circuit.

NOTE: Only the operations described here in this Operator's Manual may be carried out without the special equipment.

Any service that is required for the air conditioning system has to be performed by your John Deere Dealer, see Section 125 "Service as Required".
