Ballasting Front Wheel Drive Tractors

Ideal tire slippage for front wheel drive tractors is 8-12 percent. To reduce wheel slip to this level, more weight is needed on the front than without front wheel drive tractors. The ideal weight split is 40 percent front, 60 percent rear, of total tractor weight.
