Calibrating the EHS II-System

AGGCJD0036-UN-20OCT15
CAUTION: During calibration, the hitch moves over its entire
range from fully lowered to fully raised, without reference to the
set position values. During calibration, there is no way to influence
the movements of the hitch. In an emergency, switch off the ignition.
Preliminary work:
-
For calibration, attach a weight of approx. 50 kg (100 lb) to
the draft links.
-
Heat the transmission oil to approx. 40°C (104°F).
-
Raise the hitch as high as it will go.
-
Shut off the engine, switch the ignition OFF and turn all the
hitch potentiometers according to the illustration.
Start the automatic calibration process:
-
Start the engine.
-
Press and hold transport lock key (A).
-
At the same time press the raise/lower switch at raise symbol
(E).
-
Release the two switches simultaneously.
-
The LED (B) starts to flash.
-
Briefly touch the raise/lower switch two times at lower symbol
(F) – the hitch lowers.
-
Wait until the hitch is all the way down, then briefly touch
the raise/lower switch at raise symbol (E). The hitch starts to rise.
-
When the hitch has risen as high as it will go, press the transport
lock key (A) to end calibration.
-
The control unit returns to its normal operating mode and LED
(B) stops flashing.
-
Switch OFF the engine.
-
Restart the engine.
-
Now LED (D) starts to flash because the position setting does
not match the actual position of the hitch.
-
To rectify, set depth setting switch (C) to position "10" and
slowly turn it to the left until the LED stops flashing.
-
Switch OFF the engine.
-
Start the engine once again and check that the hitch operates
correctly.
