Cold Weather Starting Procedure Using Intake Air Heater System

CAUTION: DO NOT use starting fluid on a tractor equipped with
an intake air heater system (ask your John Deere dealer for a complete
list of other starting aids available).
The tractors are equipped with an intake air heater system.
An electric heating element (A) warms up the intake air.

Activate the intake air heater system by pushing in the ignition
switch (C) with the ignition key (B). Hold the key in for 10 to 15
seconds with temperatures down to -18° C (0° F), for 30 seconds
with temperatures down to -23° C (-10° F) and up to 45 seconds
with temperatures below -23° C (-10° F).

Turn ignition switch (C) clockwise and start engine.

If engine runs rough, activate the intake air heater system
by pressing in the key until engine runs smoothly.
