Towing Tractor

AGCPTJD0431-UN-02NOV15
CAUTION: NEVER tow tractor faster than 16 km/h (10 mph). Have
an operator steer and brake tractor. When the engine is
not running, more force is required to turn the steering wheel and
pedal travel is longer (no hydraulic assistance).
IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to the transmission/hydraulic system,
observe the following precautions:
-
Be sure transmission/hydraulic system oil is to the full mark
on the dipstick (A). If the tractor is to be towed with the front
wheels raised, add 1 liter of oil for each 9 cm (3-1/2 in.) the wheels
are raised. DO NOT raise front wheels more than 30 cm (12 in.) above
ground.
NOTE: After transporting tractor, drain oil that was added for
towing.
-
Make sure the differential lock is disengaged.
-
Make sure range and gear shift levers are in neutral.
IMPORTANT: If the engine is capable of running, switch off front-wheel
drive. If the engine is not capable of running, disconnect the universal-jointed
drive shaft; this prevents excessive wear on the tires.
IMPORTANT: The jaw hitch at the front weights may be used for
towing on metalled roads only.
