Oil Viscosities for Air Temperature Ranges

Use oil viscosity based on the expected air temperature range during the period between oil changes.

If John Deere Plus-50™ II engine oil is not available, engine oil meeting one or more of the following may be used:

Oil specifications	Recommended Oil
Premium oils 15W-40 CPI CJ-4 / CI-4 Plus / CI-4	John Deere Plus-50™ II (SAE 15W-40 CJ-4, CI-4, CH-4, SM, SL, SJ)
Premium oils 10W-30 API CJ-4 / CI-4 Plus / CI-4	John Deere Torq-Gard Supreme™ (SAE 10W-30, CI-4; CH-4)

DO NOT use engine oil containing more than 1.0% sulfated ash, 0.12% phosphorus, or 0.4% sulfur.

Multi-viscosity diesel engine oils are preferred.

Diesel fuel quality and fuel sulfur content must comply with all existing emissions regulations for the area in which the engine operates.

IMPORTANT: Use only ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel with a maximum sulfur content of 15 mg/kg (15 ppm).
