Tractors with air conditioning system

A - Heater control

B - Blower control

C - Air conditioner control

The cab has been designed to produce comfortable working conditions for the operator with all the windows closed. Fresh air can be brought in from outside the cab or the heated or cooled air within the cab can be recirculated.

The air conditioning system is operated with the following controls:

PULX000777-UN-19SEP08

Blower control knob operates the four-speed blower fan. Turn the knob counterclockwise to switch off the fan.

NOTE: When the air conditioning system is switched on and fan switch is off, fan will operate at fan speed (1).

Air conditioner control knob is used to adjust the desired temperature. Turn the knob counterclockwise to switch off and clockwise to cool the air. Always turn off when not in use.

Heat control knob is used to adjust the heat delivered. Turn the knob counterclockwise to switch off and clockwise to heat the air. Full heat output will only be available when the engine has reached full operating temperature.

Air Recirculation Control

PULX000780
PULX000780-UN-23JUL08

Move air recirculation control up toward (A) (close) to maximize fresh air into the cab. Moving the air recirculation control down toward (B) (open) will recirculate the air in the cab. The recirculated air will pass through the vents (C), the air filter and back into the blower.

Move air recirculation control up toward (A) (close) to obtain fresh air from outside the cab that gives the maximum cooling effect with the air conditioning off.

Air Flow Louvers

PULX000781
PULX000781-UN-30JUL08

Fresh air entering the cab from the outside passes through the air filter, blower, heater and air conditioner evaporator. It is blown through a set of four adjustable louvers (A) above the windshield.

CAUTION: The cab air filter is designed to remove dust from the air but may not exclude chemical vapor. Follow the chemical manufacturer's directions regarding protection from hazardous chemicals.

A - Air recirculation control

B - Louvers

C - Louvers

D - Blower control

E - Air recirculation control

Open the air recirculation control (A) to recirculate air that has already been heated. This gives the maximum heating effect.

It will be necessary to adjust the opening of the various louvers (B) and (C) to balance the heat output between the windshield and rear window.

To move large quantities of heat to the floor, open the left-hand and right-hand louvers in row (B) and close or partially close the others. Set the blower control (D) to full speed.

Defrosting the Windshield

Close the air recirculation control (E) to remove the humidity in the cab. When clear, open the air recirculation control to recirculate air that has already been heated. Open and direct the louvers (B) and (C) to the windshield. Set the blower control (D) to maximum.

Dusty Conditions

Close the air recirculation control (E) and run the blower on maximum to pressurize the air in the cab.

Make sure that all doors, windows, and the roof hatch are closed.

Make sure that the heater control (1) is turned off.

With the engine running, turn on the air conditioner temperature control (2).

Turn on the blower control (3) to mid speed.

Fully open the air recirculation control (4) by moving left. This will recirculate the air that has been already cooled to give the best cooling effect.

Open and adjust the louvers (5) to obtain the best cooling for the ambient temperature and humidity. Lower blower speeds result in cooler air.

When the desired temperature has been obtained, adjust the blower speed and temperature control to maintain the cooling level. If problems are experienced with the system, immediately inspect for a clogged condenser in front of the engine radiator.

IMPORTANT: Switch on the air conditioning system for approximately 20 minutes every month, even in the cooler seasons. This lubricates the moving parts of the system, e.g. the compressor, and prevents loss of refrigerant.

If the blower stops working, set the fan control knob to position 4 and wait at least 1 minute, to allow the fan resistor to cool down. Then restart the blower by switching the control knob to any intermediate position (1 / 2 / 3). If the problem persists, contact your authorized dealer.
