Use front-wheel drive as required for better traction.
CAUTION: Front-wheel drive greatly increases traction. When
this option is used, extra caution is needed on slopes. Compared to
2-wheel drive, a front-wheel drive tractor maintains traction on steeper
slopes, increasing the possibility of a tip over. When
driving on icy, wet or graveled surfaces, reduce speed and make sure
that tractor is properly ballasted to avoid skidding and loss of steering
control. For best control, engage front-wheel drive (if equipped).
IMPORTANT: To extend tire life, engage front-wheel drive only
when needed. DO NOT engage front-wheel drive when driving at high
speed on public roads.
IMPORTANT: The front-wheel drive can be engaged and disengaged
in all gears (forward and reverse), on-the-go and under load without
using the clutch. Anticipate the need for front-wheel drive, make
sure neither rear wheel is slipping then engage or disengage when
minimum torque is being used and the tractor is moving slowly.
Press the front-wheel drive switch (B) in position (C) to engage
and in position (D) to disengage front-wheel drive. Indicator light
(3) will glow when front-wheel drive is engaged.
NOTE: When the brakes are applied, front-wheel drive cuts in
automatically regardless of the position selected at the front-wheel
drive switch. In this case the indicator light (3) does not come on. Keeping pressed the switch (B) longer than 3 sec, allows the
front-wheel drive to be engaged permanently, independently from vehicle
speed and brakes usage. In this case the message "4WD ON" appears
on the digital display for about 3 seconds; the indicator (3) will
glow until front-wheels drive will be disengaged.
