Shifting Transmission

Range, Gear, Mechanical Splitter and Electrohydraulic Hi-Lo Shifts:

IMPORTANT: To prevent unnecessary wear, never ”ride” the clutch by resting a foot on the pedal.

To prevent transmission damage, do not make range shifts on-the-go.

Depress clutch pedal (A) and stop tractor before shifting the range shift lever (B) and reverse drive lever (E).

Depress clutch pedal (A) before shifting the gear shift lever (D). Gears (1), (2), (3) and (4) can be shifted on-the-go.

Depress clutch pedal (A) before shifting the mechanical Hi-Lo shift lever (C). The mechanical Hi-Lo can be shifted on-the-go.

Release clutch pedal gradually to take up load smoothly.

Mechanically actuated

AGCPTJD0625

Electrically actuated

The reverse drive lever (T) has three positions:

  • Forward
  • Neutral
  • Reverse

With clutch pedal depressed, push lever (T) forward from neutral to select forward travel or pull back from neutral to select reverse travel.

NOTE: The 24/12 speed transmission can be operated without depressing the clutch.

For further information see Shifting Transmission – 24/12 Speed Transmission in this Section

Shifting Transmission - 24/12 Speed Transmission

To prevent transmission damage, do not make range shifts on-the-go.

Depress clutch pedal and stop tractor before shifting the range shift lever. If oil temperature is very low shift ranges only with gear shift lever in neutral position.

The reverse drive lever (B) has three positions:

  • Forward
  • Neutral
  • Reverse

The reverse drive lever (B) and the gear shift lever can be shifted on-the-go without depressing the clutch pedal.

Push reverse drive lever (B) forward from neutral to select forward travel or pull back from neutral to select reverse travel.

CAUTION: If a range and a gear is selected with the engine running and the reverse drive lever is not in neutral position the tractor will start moving.

On tractors with 24/12 speed transmission, always engage park brake and put the gear lever in ”NEUTRAL” position before restarting the tractor.

A - High Speed

B - Low Speed

C - Declutch Switch (Tractors with 24/12 Speed Transmission Only)

The ”Hi” or ”Lo” speed is activated by operating switch (A) or (B), located on the gear lever.

When pushing the switch (C) the clutch is disengaged, the gears can be shifted up or down. After releasing the switch (C), the clutch is engaged.

1 if equipped.
