DirectDrive — Customizing Vehicle Behavior

The DirectDrive transmission offers a wide variety of custom settings. As a rule, these settings have a positive effect on vehicle behavior. However, an incorrect setting may result in the tractor reacting in undesirable ways.

Situation

Possible corrective action (see “DirectDrive — Settings” in this section)

Tractor shifts up and down too frequently.

Change the value for engine speed droop.

Deselect ECO mode or change the setting.

Select an appropriate operating mode.

Select a startup gear in Range BC that is appropriate for the anticipated load.

Tractor shifts too early or too late.

Change the value for engine speed droop.

Switch off FieldCruise™ or change the setting.

Deselect ECO mode or change the setting.

Select an appropriate operating mode.

Tractor shifts are rough.

Activate Softshift.

Irregular ground speed.

Select an appropriate operating mode.

Tractor is too slow or too fast.

Change the setting for top speed.

Remember that speed setting in Full Auto mode always relates to 100% of the hand throttle of accelerator pedal settings. For this reason, check the engine speed setting.

Engine speed is inconstant (when operating a PTO).

Switch off FieldCruise™ or change the setting.

Deactivate softshift (B) before operating a PTO.

Deselect ECO mode or change the setting.

Select an appropriate operating mode.

An inappropriate gear is selected at startup.

Select the desired startup gear at transmission settings.

Difference in speed between forward travel and reverse travel is too great or too small.

Select the desired reverse-forward speed ratio at transmission settings.
