Check Air Filter Restriction Indicator and Pre-cleaner

With the engine running, check the restriction indicator. A green band on the indicator means that the filter is working properly.

A red band indicates the filter is clogged and should be cleaned or replaced.

CAUTION: Do not touch hot exhaust system components. Allow sufficient time for components to cool before working on the system.

If the indicator shows an air filter restriction, also check the pre-cleaner. Visually inspect the aspirator hose on the exhaust, hose routing, clamps and pre-cleaner assembly on top of the air filter.

Squeeze the vacuator valve to remove accumulated dirt.
